As any seasoned driver will attest to, over time your vehicle, through normal wear and tear, will start to see its performance diminish and become less reliable than it used to be. An essential component of your car’s operation is its transmission system, which is relied upon to change gears smoothly and get you up to speed quickly on the pavement. It’s not immortal though, so today we invite you to join our Carville’s Auto Mart team as we take a look at some common signs your transmission system is going bad. This way, you can be prepared if you start to notice something weird happening underneath the cabin!
If you’ve driven an older car before you’re probably aware of how it feels to have your transmission slip. Normally occurring when you’re trying to shift up, you’ll hear a strange noise and feel your car almost jerk forward as it continues changing gears. This could be due to a number of factors, but chief among them is a worn-out gear shifter.
You’ve maybe experienced this before; have you tried to shift from park into reverse, only to feel your transmission delay before taking you backwards more aggressively than it normally would? That’s no accident; it’s a sign that your transmission system likely needs some repairs as soon as possible.
If you’re about to get into your car in the morning and notice a translucent, reddish liquid streaking from underneath it, we’ve got some bad news; that’s your transmission fluid. Since it’s more useful inside your transmission system, you should get it checked out right away! Also, a key rule of thumb is to be replacing your fluid anywhere between 30,000 to 60,000 miles.

I never knew that a reddish liquid streaking from under my car is a clear indication that there is something wrong with the transmission. My car has experienced this a lot of times, and I just took it for granted, thinking that it was just normal. I guess it'll e best if I'll start looking for a shop that sells different varieties of auto parts, so I may replace my transmission with a new one.
I wasn't aware that leaking transmission fluid should mean that you should get it checked right away to make sure your transmission system is functioning properly. My husband mentioned that he saw some fluid under the car earlier today. I think we should find a professional with experience in automatic transmissions that can help us get things working again.
