Sunlight / Powderhorn Trail
The Sunlight Mountain to Powderhorn trail overs more than 120 miles and offers several outlets for sledder to enjoy. This trail offers several lodges and places for explorers to stop and enjoy the view—including Vega State Park, Cottonwood Creek and Buzzard Creek.
Bull Creek Loop Trail #13A
This trailhead starts at the intersection of Cold Sore Snowmobile Trail #739 and ends at the northeast end of Cottonwood Lakes #1. It takes sledders through open meadows and a forest with spruce, fir and aspen trees. Check this non-groomed trail out for a fun, scenic adventure.
Surface Creek Snowmobile Trail #741
The Surface Creek trail is located on the #27 trailhead of the Powderhorn Trail and runs north on Forest Service Road 125 and links up with SP Trail near Trickle Park Reservoir. It offers a climb from 8,600 feet to 10,100 feet and is the perfect trail for all skill levels of sledders while providing scenic views.
Lands End Loop Snowmobile #737
The Lands End Loop trail begins about 1.5 miles west of the Mesa Top Trailhead and is about 25 miles long. It runs along the north rim of Grand Mesa and goes past Crater View and the Powderhorn Ski Resort. It also offers two bathrooms and has an elevation of 10,648 feet.
Flat Tops Loop #546
The Flat Tops Loop #546 starts at Vega State Park Trailhead and pairs with the Vega Trail to create a 21-mile loop. It offers scenic views of Colorado’s topography and is a great place to ride near Collbran. The elevation climbs from 8,000 ft to 9,520 ft throughout the trail.
