4 Swimming Holes near Grand Junction, CO
Highline Lake State Park offers two lakes for swimming, boating, jet skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, tubing and other water sports. The park also offers campsites for those who want to enjoy a weekend getaway.
Big Dominguez Canyon located in the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area has a number of natural swimming pools surrounded by impressive rock formations and waterfalls. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in Colorado’s natural beauty while taking a break from the heat.
James M. Robb State Park features the Island Acres swim area, which offers a swimming beach and is open until Labor Day. No pets are allowed on the beach, nor are glass or fires.
Cobbett Lake near Cedaredge is about an hour from Grand Junction and is one of the more than 300 lakes in the Land O’ Lakes area. It is open to non-motorized watercraft and offers boating, fishing, hunting and camping opportunities.
