Helpful tips for traveling with your dogs

With the holidays and end of the school year coming up, there’ll be a lot of traveling about to happen, and sometimes there’s no better road trip companion than your dog. Our four-legged companions are “man’s best friend” for a reason; It’s always fun to have them along for the ride, but there are some precautions you should take to make sure the drive is as enjoyable for your pups as it is for you. Join our Carville’s team today as we take you through some helpful tips for traveling with your dogs!

Leave Plenty of Room

This goes for both dogs and humans, but everyone needs plenty of space to be able to stretch out. Since most pups have a ton of energy that needs to get out, it’s always a good idea to clear out your back seat so there’s ample room for them to move. Along with this, investing in a cover for your seats is helpful should your dog be more prone to shedding. This way, its fur won’t get tangled up in the fabric!

Let Fresh Air Circulate

If you spend a lot of time with your pups, you know that they’ll need a lot of fresh air to keep acting with optimism and fun. Though it gets cold around Grand Junction this time of year, you should make it a point to crack open a window or two so your dog can breathe easy!

Bring Snacks and Water

Your canine pals will get hungry and thirsty often, so to keep them satisfied throughout the trip, be sure to pack plenty of treats and water. This way, they’ll stay happy and you can relax knowing that they’re taken care of!

Keep Your Dogs Secure

When it’s time to rest, you’ll need to make sure that your dogs have a safe and comfortable place to sleep. You can get car seats for your friends quite inexpensively these days, and your pets will thank you at bedtime!
