You need to make sure your car has all of its parts working or it is going to cause problems. Cars are one big machine, after all, so one thing out of place can throw everything else out of balance.
Winter can be especially tough on our cars and trucks. The cold temps will wreak havoc on any of the delicate parts of our engines. Preparation is key to surviving the winter with the same car you started with. We will run you through a few of the things you must do before winter hits.
Pre-Winter Maintenance Checklist for Trucks
The first thing you should do will probably seem pretty obvious. An inspection of your car is the best place to start. Checking everything you possibly can will help to catch any minor concerns before they become major problems. It’s really easy to fix something if you notice it before it breaks. If you wait too long, then it might break which can damage other things.
After that, checking the battery and fluid levels is another good step. The cold with sap energy from your battery, so you should make sure it is strong enough to beat the cold snap. Antifreeze and other fluids should also be checked to make sure they are at the proper levels. Also, take the time to consider the fuel type you are using. If you have a diesel truck, then it might be time to double-check that the fuel you’ll use is winterized.
