Summer road trip checklist for passengers
Ladies and gentlemen of Grand Junction, it’s officially the first day of summer! The warmer weather is always welcome news, because it gives us all more time to enjoy the gorgeous scenery we’re fortunate to be around here in Western Colorado. Warm weather also means that it’s prime road trip season, and today we’ll tell you what you should bring along for the ride to keep both your vehicle and passengers happy!
What should you pack for a road trip?
As any seasoned parent will tell you, viewing the scenery on a trip can be awesome, but keeping your kids and passengers happy is paramount. Here are just a few things you should plan on packing for those adventures:
- Extra Clothes: People can get messy from time to time, and there’s nothing worse than getting a stain on the last clean shirt you brought. Extra shirts and pants are never a bad idea to bring with you.
- Entertainment: The sign game is fun, and carpool karaoke is a great way to pass the time. However, some portable game devices and books are great for keeping kids occupied when you just need some time with your thoughts.
- Snacks: There’s definitely beauty in stopping for a burger at a restaurant that’s new to you, but if hunger strikes between meals it can get ugly. Bring along some snacks, candy and plenty of water so everyone can stay hydrated and happy!
- Outdoors Equipment: As everyone knows, part of the fun of the road trip comes in the journey, not just the destination. If you see some hiking trails along the way, bring some flashlights, boots and guide books to really get a feel for your environment!
