What Is Happening in Grand Junction on Independence Day?

Christmas is great because of all of the presents. Thanksgiving is nice because you get to spend time with family. As nice as those two holidays are, nothing compares to the joy of the Fourth of July. It’s one of the most exciting holidays.

It’s such a great event and it feels like the official kickoff for summer. There are tons of things going on in the Grand Junction area to celebrate America’s birthday. We’ll give you a quick rundown of some of the things that are happening to help you make your holiday plans.

Fourth of July Events in Grand Junction, CO

The day kicks off with the Credit Union of Colorado’s Fourth of July Parade in downtown Grand Junction. The event starts at 10:00am and will last until noon. At the event parking on Main Street from 1st to 9th street will be prohibited during the parade. There will be parking on side streets or in the parking garage at 4th and Rood. Dogs are not allowed at the parade.

If you’re in the mood for fireworks, then you have two options in front of you. Fruita is having a fireworks show on July 3. It will take place in the Snooks Bottom Open area around sunset. If you are interested in a double showing of fireworks, then you will want to check out what is happening in Grand Junction. After the Rockies game on July 4, there will be a fireworks show at Suplizio Field. There are also a lot of other Fourth of July events happening in the surrounding areas.
