When you’re going to buy a used car, it’s vitally important to know that you won’t encounter any unexpected problems on the road; that’s why we offer detailed reports of every vehicle in our inventory so there won’t be any surprises as soon as you roll off the lot. Some drivers still wonder, however: What is included in a Vehicle History Report? We’ll let you know today!
Detailed Title Information
One of the biggest issues when buying a used car is figuring out whether or not a vehicle has had a clean title throughout its longevity. With our vehicle history reports (supplied by CarFax) you’ll learn your desired car’s ownership history, states in which it had a title, and whether or not it was considered salvage or junk.
Accident and Insurance History
You can only polish and detail a car well enough; if it’s been in an accident before, sooner or later you’ll figure that out. Every vehicle history report we fill out also includes a car’s accident and insurance claim history! Even if that fender bender back in 2009 isn’t a big deal to you, it’s still great to know what that car you’ve had your eyes on has been through.
Odometer Reading
This isn’t really a big deal now that odometers are usually electronic, but Vehicle History Reports also take a careful look at your vehicle’s mileage readings throughout its life. This can also be important and helpful with the next aspect we’ll talk about; if you notice that your car went 10,000 miles between oil changes, that might be a red flag.
Service Records
Everytime a car is brought in for maintenance or routine service its VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is taken; this information is vital so that you know what parts are newer or older, and what problems your vehicle has had in the past. That way you’ll find it much easier to know which areas need a little extra care.
